Miles for Moms raises money for Mom's House in Phoenixville

PHOENIXVILLE — The streets around Phoenixville High School became a sea of yellow as nearly 200 runners participated in the “Miles for Moms”5K on Sunday, April 7.

This fourth annual event supports Mom’s House, a free childcare center for single, low-income parents who are full-time students.

The overall male winner was Chuck Crabb with a time of 18:20. The overall female winner Samicha Konkar ran a time of 23:07. The youngest runner to cross the 5K finish line was Mya Krueger, age 10. Her time was 30:53.

Mom’s House is grateful to the Phoenixville High School Youth and Philanthropy and Key Clubs who provided the extra hands that were needed to make this a successful event.

Primary sponsors of the event were Allied Wire and Cable, Only Results Fitness, Phoenix Karate, Phoenixville Police Association, Phoenix Tax Consultants and St. Basil’s Church and School.
