PHOENIXVILLE — Good Samaritan Shelter will be holding its 2nd Annual Night of Awareness event on April 19 at Valley Forge Christian College.
Participants will be spending the night outside to learn more about homelessness in our area and to raise money for the Good Samaritan Shelter.
The event will again feature speakers, a candlelight vigil, a time for prayer/reflection on the issues that cause homelessness and a time to assemble care packages that will be distributed to residents of the Good Samaritan Shelter. Participants will also be given the opportunity to write letters of encouragement to the residents of the Good Samaritan Shelter.
The Night of Awareness is an opportunity for youth groups, families and anyone interested in learning more about homelessness while making a significant difference.
All event information can be found online at www.goodsamshelter.dojiggy.com or www.goodsamshelter.org. Anyone interested in participating must first register online. Once registered, participants can set their personal fundraising goal and spread the word to family and friends.
Since 2002 the Good Samaritan Shelter has been serving the needs of homeless men in the greater Phoenixville area. Today, the organization owns five buildings on High Street and provides shelter and services to more than 100 men annually.
