Phoenixville resident wins $1K in ‘Millionarire' TV show

Disney-ABC Photo Phoenixville resident Sue Gausch appears on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” during Thursday’s episode.

Sue Gausch, a consultant from Phoenixville, was a contestant on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” in the episode airing Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013.

Sue is the daughter of Anne Gausch, also of Phoenixville. Sue’s boyfriend Mark and her mother Anne came to NYC with her and sat in the Millionaire audience as her on-air companions for the show. Sue is a 1988 graduate of Phoenixville High School.

Sue’s inspiration for trying out for “Millionaire” was her mother, who has been a huge fan of the show since the beginning. Her mother Anne watches “Millionaire” faithfully at lunchtime every day.

Sue’s father was also a big “trivia guy” and they loved playing Trivial Pursuit together. Her dad has since passed on, but she feels as if he’s been watching over her throughout the entire “Millionaire” process, sending good luck her way.

Sue and her boyfriend Mark are what they call “pre-engaged.” That means they’ve talked about marriage, but they’re waiting for the right time to take the next step. She’s thinking that if she wins big on “Millionaire,” they can document the marriage proposal and wedding in a new reality show … “Millionaire Bride!”

With a big win on “Millionaire,” Sue would pay for her dream wedding and African Safari honeymoon. She would also make a down payment on her dream house.

Sue made it up to her ninth question, but unfortunately provided an incorrect answer, which meant that she fell back to $1,000 in winnings.
