The Chester County Pops Orchestra will perform at the Phoenixville Area Middle School, 1330 Main St., Phoenixville, on Jan. 26, at 3 p.m.

The program theme is Picks of the Flicks…Movie Soundtracks and More…Pops Style! Featured are medleys from “My Fair Lady” and “Les Misérables,” as well as John Phillip Sousa’s “High School Cadets” and John Williams’ “Raider’s March” from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and a number of beloved movie themes. The Pops will welcome guest conductors Dr. Vincent Craig and Joe Gehring, two of four candidates being considered for the position of music director/conductor for the Chesco Pops upon the retirement of Dr. Voois in 2014. Also appearing in this series is soprano soloist Kim Russell.

The Chesco Pops brings together 65 of Chester County’s finest instrumental players, under the direction of WCU Professor Emeritus Jacques Voois. Since its founding in 2005, it has presented 44 concerts in more than a dozen county venues.

For their Winter Series, the Pops is partnering with local community non-profits. For the price of their tickets, concertgoers will enjoy another wonderful Chesco Pops concert and also support the ongoing community programs and activities of the Phoenixville Public Library. A percentage of ticket revenues will be donated to the library.
