CHESTER SPRINGS —Come and celebrate the holidays at The Mill at Anselma. On Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10a.m. to 4p.m., The Mill at Anselma will be decked out in its holiday splendor enchanting visitors to take part in the winter holiday, including craft-making and letter-writing to Santa, who will be waiting in the 1930s-era post office to take your letters back with him to the North Pole! On Friday, Dec. 14 from 5 to 7p.m., stop by the mill for the annual Candlelight Tours. Browse the gift shop for local holiday gifts. The Holiday Wonderland also includes a flour milling demonstration in the historic grist mill.
The Mill at Anselma (c. 1747) served its local agricultural community for three centuries and is considered the most complete example of a Colonial-era custom grist mill in the United States. Now restored and recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the Mill at Anselma provides a powerful educational resource, allowing visitors to experience Chester County’s industrial and agricultural past through flour milling demonstrations, tours of the site and hands-on family activities.
